Propulsion: Sail
Construction: Timber
Owner: Owen Abbot

The idea to build a sailboat was born out of boredom during the 2020 COVID lock-downs. Owen had never sailed before, but did not let this stop him taking on the ambitious project. The resulting trailer sailor is a testament to his craftmanship, truly a work of art on water. The hull is marine plywood construction and is fully fibre glassed top to bottom. A hollow birds-mouth mast of Hoop Pine holds a gaff cutter rig with DIY headsail furlers. The Cedar strip decking is made from old window blinds! Free of a centerboard case, the small cuddy cabin provides simple camping accommodation. The build took 2 ½ years to complete.
