The Gipsy was built by Charlie Neill in Paynesville and was launched in 1948, for Dan Kollmorgan. She was built to a William Atkin design selected from the American Motor Boating Magazine.
The planking is NZ Kauri. The ribs, keel and deadwood are all from WA karri. Stem is local yellow box. The original motor was a side-valve standard Ford V8 using direct drive to a 16” propellor.
