CC Neill was built in Port Albert 1949-50 as a fishing boat and operated in Bass Strait, possibly known as Patina (Patina Star??). When Camp Coolamatong acquired it in the early 80's it was a fishing charter boat operating out of Queenscliff under the name Dawn.It was fitted out as a passenger launch at the Paynesville Slip Yard and has been a regular visitor there ever since.
It is now known as CC Neill, named after local shipwright Charles Clifford Neill who very generously looked after Coolamatongs boats (Acme and Lowan) in the early days.
The CC Neill has been operating continuously on the Gippsland lakes for the past 40 years. Countless children and staff have experienced the beauty of the lakes over the years in this special boat.
